7 Tips For Solving The Problem of Chronic Foot Pain

If you’ve ever taken a walk then you must have noticed that your feet are not just feet, but the foundation of your life. As humans, we put our feet through rigorous activities while mostly out of sight, and use them more than we would like to admit.

When it comes to foot pain, we often overlook its underlying causes. The health of our feet and the way we take of them play a vital role in how we stand tall and walk on. If a typical day at the office makes you feel miserable by the time you get home, this is not because your feet are functionally unwell, but because you haven’t yet paid special attention to caring for them properly.

But if the pain persists…

If the pain persists, there could be a nerve problem. You could examine your feet the way they were in younger years through “self foot exam” using stairs, floors and unpainted concrete. The sensory ability should be equal on each side. There is also a neuroma test and a tenderness test for superficial nerves. A physical therapist can do these tests or a podiatrist (foot doctor). Their opinion along with examination by your physician should be enough to clear your feet as the cause of your heel pain.
